SAN FRANCISCO — October 26, 2026. Teenagers interested in environmental stewardship, civic projects and parks have until Friday, October 30 to explore the next application round for San Francisco Recreation and Parks’ Greenager Program, according to the department’s latest program reminder.
What is the Greenager Program?
The department describes Greenager as a training and part-time work opportunity for teenagers who help improve green spaces, raise environmental awareness and contribute to projects connected to particular places or themes. The program links youth development with care for public recreational areas.
The public construction update that announced the October 30 deadline does not list every eligibility rule, school grade, number of seats or pay rate. Families should review the current Greenager application and program terms before assuming any particular teenager qualifies or that an application guarantees paid work.
How to follow up
The application deadline appears in Recreation and Parks’ October 21 Buchanan Street Mall construction and community update. That neighborhood-specific posting also highlights workforce-development partnerships, but Greenager is a distinct youth program, not a position on the park’s construction crew.
Young residents and their families should use the San Francisco Recreation and Parks website and the department’s Greenager program listing to check instructions for the next cohort, with accommodations and required documents.
